Homewood Baseball, Softball & T-Ball Board Positions
President: Oversees all aspects of Homewood Baseball Leagues, Inc. Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience on the Board of Directors.
1st Vice President: Responsible for soliciting and assigning all team sponsors and field sign sponsors.
2nd Vice President: Responsible for field maintenance.
3rd Vice President: Responsible for maintenance and repair of all buildings.
Assistant 2nd Vice President: Assists the 2nd VP with the fields and the 3rd VP with the buildings.
Treasurer: Handles all bill paying, registration money, umpire checks, reconciles bank accounts, and provides monthly treasury report.
Assistant Treasurer: Assists treasurer with bill paying, registration money, umpire checks, reconciles bank accounts, and provides monthly treasury report.
Secretary: Takes minutes at board meetings , types report for board members, handles all correspondence. Responsible for making all arrangements for registration and try-outs.
Purchaser: Responsible for purchasing all equipment, uniforms and trophies.
Equipment Manager: Responsible for the ordering, upkeep, distribution and collection of all equipment.
Scheduler: Determines the game schedule and reschedules rained-out games. Keeps the concession stand updated with any changes.
Director of Insurance: Responsible for league insurance and submitting claims for injuries and/or property damage.
Tournament Director: Responsible for the Homewood Invitational Tournament (HIT). Coordinates available tournaments with leagues. (Can be split between two positions, one for boys, one for girls.)
Concession Stand President: Oversees all aspects of the concession stand and BBQ pit. Runs the concession stand monthly meetings and attends the general board meetings.
T-Ball League President: Oversees all aspects of the League, including choosing managers, appointing commissioners, working registration, organizing teams.
Rookie League President: Oversees all aspects of the League, including choosing managers, appointing commissioners, working registration, organizing try-outs, conducting a draft. (Can be split between 2 presidents, one for each division)
Cal Ripken League President: Oversees all aspects of the League, including choosing managers, appointing commissioners, working registration, organizing try-outs, conducting a draft. (Can be split between 2 presidents, one for each division)
Babe Ruth 13 – 15 League President: Oversees all aspects of League, including choosing managers, appointing commissioners, working registration, organizing try-outs, conducting a draft. Along with the help of the commissioners, responsible for the infield maintenance at Lion’s and Apollo.
Babe Ruth 16 – 19 League President: Oversees all aspects of the League, including formation of teams.
Bantam League President: Oversees all aspects of the League, including choosing managers, appointing commissioners, working registration, organizing try-outs, conducting a draft. (Can be split between 2 presidents, one for each division)
Junior League President: Oversees all aspects of the League, including choosing managers, appointing commissioners, working registration, organizing try-outs, conducting a draft.
Senior League President: Oversees all aspects of the League, including choosing managers, appointing commissioners, working registration, organizing try-outs, conducting a draft.
Webmaster: Oversees all aspects of the website. Manages online registration system. Communicates with league families via email blast and responds to email and social media communications. Manages online scheduling system and duty reminder system. Assists board members with reporting needs. Manages social media presence and posts updates. Keeps website up to date and uploads season and tournament rosters each season.
Player Representative/Travel Coordinator: Responsible for assisting all league presidents with the formation and operation of the post-season all-star teams, and in-season traveling teams. Assist league presidents with the setup and administration of the Fall Ball program.
Head Umpire/Umpire Coordinator: Responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling of all paid umpires. Schedule, staff, and coordinate training sessions for both paid and parent volunteer umpires. Make recommendations to the board for updates/changes to the umpire program across the league as deemed necessary.
Communications Director: Responsible for overseeing all outgoing general league-wide communication, general messaging and public relations correspondence on behalf of the league, while also spearheading the value proposition and mission statement of the league, subject to the approval of the board of directors on broad efforts with direct oversight of individual communication by the President and/or First Vice President. The Director will work to ensure that all activities and functions of the league are a reflection of the mission and value in which the league is centered and make recommendations to the board for any branding and messaging change recommendations to consider and implement. .
