T Ball Homewood Baseball and Softball League Ages 4 & 5

T Ball is for boys and girls ages 4 & 5.

The focus of T Ball is to develop the foundation of baseball and softball skills which young players can build upon for the rest of their playing days. The league is 100% focused on our players having the most positive experience possible!

Homewood T Ball is a 100% instructional league.  Our goal is to develop the basic skills needed to play baseball and softball.  We teach the basics of hitting, throwing, catching, and base running.  We teach sportsmanship and introduce our participants to team play.  Our league is 100% volunteer.  That starts with league president, commissioners, Managers, Assistant coaches and team parents.  T Ball is a great way for kids to learn the game of baseball and a way for parents to develop the skills they need to become great coaches.

  • T-Ball plays 10 games.
  • Games consist of 2 innings, 3 if time allows.
  • All players bat through the entire lineup each inning and there are no outs.
  • Practices and games are structured to teach fundamentals and make sure the kids are having fun.
  • The last 2 games of the season we allow coach pitching.
  • Teams consist of 10 to 12 players, 2 to 3 coaches and a team parent.  All coaches and team parents are volunteer.
  • Games will be played Tuesdays at either 5:45 or 7:00 or Sunday at 12:00.  Our schedule allows us to have 12 teams play on Tuesday and 6 teams play on Sunday.  We try to spread the game slots out evenly with all teams in T Ball.  We play a feature game day on a Sunday if the schedule allows.  Players love these games.
  • Most teams practice at Irwin, Willow, Olive or many other parks in Homewood.
  • All teams will play one game and have one 45 minute practice per week through week 6 of the season.  After week 6 or June 1st teams may practice every other week if coaches feel their players are progressing.  These are the expectations set league wide.
