Changes to the HBSL Parent Volunteer
Duty Process
Dear Parents:
We have exciting news about a
policy update that will affect all families for the upcoming 2019 Homewood
Baseball and Softball season.
Families will no longer be assigned umpire or
concession stand duties! After an
audit of our past two seasons, more than 90 percent of families ‘buy out’ of
their assignments. Given this compelling data, we will collect a refundable Volunteer
Duty Deposit of $60 for each registered player.
In order to help families
plan for this change in fee structure, the $60 per player deposit can be made
one of three ways:
·
Included with
your online registration
·
Included in a
payment plan
·
Paid at a later
time, before games begin in April
The deposit will need to be
received prior to your child receiving their uniform, or playing any games,
which is why we are opening registration and payment plans several months in
advance of the season, which begins on April 20, 2019.
If you would like to work
volunteer duties and have your deposit refunded, that is still an option. We will have forms available for you to request
either concession stand or umpire duties, and upon successful completion of 3
duties, your deposit will be refunded to you.
Because parents will no
longer be assigned umpire or concession stand duties, there will be no
reminders sent, and you will not have to worry about getting your buyout envelope
to the park in time for your child’s game. It will also significantly
streamline the administration process for our volunteers.
Thank you so much for your
feedback and information that helped us to craft this new procedure. We are
confident it will make the entire baseball and softball experience more
rewarding for players and parents alike.
If you have any questions at
all, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].
Thank You!
